Giving program will help nonprofit provide meals
to homebound seniors in Pinellas County
Clearwater, FL (September 18, 2019) – Neighborly Meals on Wheels program is excited to announce a $5,000 donation from Publix Super Markets Charities this month.
Publix has been a long-time supporter of Neighborly and its mission to provide wellness and independent living for individuals and families. Funds from Publix Charity will be used to provide meals to homebound individuals 60 and older in Pinellas County.
“We are grateful to have great corporate supporters like Publix who understand how important our mission is to the community we serve ,” said David Lomaka, Executive Director for Neighborly, Meals on Wheels.

Neighborly, a private, not-for-profit, organization has been a leader in elder care, providing quality nutrition, transportation and social programs for adults 60 and older in Pinellas County. Neighborly started the first federally funded Meals on Wheels program in the nation in 1966, and opened the first Adult Day Center in
1968. Neighborly serves more than 3,000 seniors in
Pinellas County with the assistance of nearly 650 volunteers.
